Széchenyi wrote other African hunting titles that still await translation. This book is translated from Hungarian by Ralph Murray. Count Zsigmond Széchenyi of Sárvár-Felsvidék was a Hungarian hunter, traveler and writer. An outstanding figure of the Hungarian hunting culture. He hunted in Africa, India, Alaska and various parts of Europe. His hunting library is the collection of the most significant hunting textbook in Hungary, which can currently be viewed in the Hungarian Museum of Natural History.
