While he does not associate with any particular artistic movement, Yue is inspired by a diverse variety of styles, from Neo-Pop to the Cynical Realism style popular in Contemporary Chinese art. Works from the Smile-ism series have been exhibited at the Asia Society in New York and the Saatchi Gallery in London, among other institutions.
