Description: See my other items for sale. 1990 found Yo La Tengo in an in-between phase, which partly explains the return of Hoboken scenester Dave Schramm on lead guitar. Fakebook sounds like no other Yo La Tengo album and not just because it's cover-heavy (there are several Kaplan / Hubley originals here). Fakebook is the sound of Ira and Georgia biding time, paying tribute to their influences, and awaiting the arrival of bassist / keyboardist James McNew, which would snap the Yo La Tengo sound brilliantly into focus on 1993's Painful.
