In 1989 Yiannis started publishing the periodical "Neo Epipedo" which is on literary and visual art topics. From 2002 he publishes a new collectable periodical, called "Technopegnion", both dedicated to art and literary. Stefanakis has been publishing collectable editions ("Cherokineto" Publications). In 1994 and 2012 he co-organized the first and second Hellenic Comics Festival with Margarita Vasilakou. He has collaborated with several publishing houses and literary magazines. The 1997 he published a rare limited Art Folio Book of 35 numbered and signed copies, John of Patmos (Αποκάλυψις Ιωάννου) “Revelation” with seven colored engravings. In 2004 he took part in 2nd International Conference on Typography in Thessaloniki, at Macedonia University. Stefanakis has organized seminars on printmaking and has worked with publishers and literary magazines. He has also done props and scenographic artistry for the Greek theater and has taught drawing, painting and printmaking at AKTO School. In 2010 was published the poetry book "The nail of the year" by Gabrielides publications. Stefanakis has had many solo and participated in many group art exhibitions, his work can be found in many public, private collections and Museums in Greece and in many European countries. Also a Member of the Chamber of Fine Arts, the Union of Greek Engravers, Network Visual Heraklion and the Society of Greek Writers. *** History of printing: Woodblock printing 200 CE, Movable type 1040, Printing press 1453, Etching 1515, Mezzotint 1642, Aquatint 1772, Lithography 1796, Chromolithography 1837, Screen printing 1910, Photocopying 1938, Inkjet printing 1951, Dot matrix printer 1968, Laser printing 1969, Giclee 4 color Dye Inkjet printing 1991, Pigment Achival Inkjet printing early 2000's (using 6~12 color print heads). * * *The conventions for numbering prints are well-established, but other marks may indicate that a print has been made in addition to the numbered prints of an edition.
