The acid free sticker on the reverse of this photo was part of the previous owners collection and catalog system. Up for sale is are two (2) 1899 Original unmounted albumen printed photographs by James David Givens. These photos were taken in the Philippines during the Spanish American Wars. J.D. (James David) Givens Photographer from San Francisco recorded the Spanish-American War of 1898. He also created souvenir boxed set of prints titled : Scenes in the Philippines, Cuba, Porto Rico, The Hawaiian Islands and Soldiers. This is an unmounted albumen print was titled Igarrote Spearmen. This photo was featured in the souvenir box set, but this is the original print unmounted and was not part of the box gift set. 59486. This listing also includes a second photo from Givens, also an unmounted albumen photo taken in the Philippines. Measurements: approximately 7.5” by 9” Condition: Overall very good condition with some wear consistent with age and storage. There is a small tear approximately 1/2 inch on the left edge.
