Description: Wyoming Banded Iron Formation / Hematite / Jasper602 Grams3 7/8" x 2 1/2" x 1 7/8"Highly PolishedWyoming Banded Iron was formed during the creation of the Earth when oxygen was first being produced. Twisting occurred when the formation was heated up to a near flowing consistency and was then compressed where it lithified into the rock we find today. It is one of the oldest rocks to occur deep under the ground and then be uplifted and deposited on the surface where sand, wind and rain have uniquely sculpted each piece into a work of natural art. This piece is a very old ancient shoreline cobble from the Sundance Sea inland seaway. It has magnetic properties. This specimen has been polished in a Vibra - Tumbler. It's natural shape has not been altered.Photos have been taken only dry. You will receive it as shown in the photos.
