Description: WWII Era Original US Navy Mark 1 Fighting Knife w/USN MK 1 Scabbard - Marked: RH Pal 35 - NICE Condition Up for sale is a WWII Era Original US Navy Mark 1 Fighting Knife w/USN MK 1 Scabbard. The knife has a stacked leather washer handle with a Bright Blade. This knife is used, see photo's for condition. Some minor finish wear and discoloration on the blade. No nicks in the blade. The blade has some evidence of sharpening, scratches on the blade edge. The knife is marked on the blade: U.S.N. Mark 1 and RH Pal 35. The markings are clear and easy to read. The knife has a aluminum pommel. The guard is tight and the pommel has a slight "wiggle". It has a stacked leather washer handle. The leather is soft and supple. No cracks or breaks in the leather washers on the handle, just the normal nicks and handling marks, see photos for condition. The scabbard is marked USN MK 1 on the metal throat and NORD 8114 over B.M. Co. VP on the rear. There are no cracks or breaks in the fiber body of the scabbard. See photos for details and condition. This is a Nice Example of a WWII USN Mark 1 Fighting Knife. If you see M.H. Coles Book's "Best of US Military Knives, Bayonets & Machetes" page 109, #23.
