WWII Japanese Officer’s Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless Leather Holster WW2 M1903 32

Description: This is an original World War Two leather holster for a Colt Model 1903 Hammerless. The Japanese Army did not issue sidearms to its officers; the officers purchased their own sidearms. The .32ACP Colt M1903 Hammerless was a popular purchase. Colt shipped a good number of them to Japan before U.S. involvement in WWII. Some of those pistols made it back to the U.S. when GIs captured them on the battlefield. This is a holster for one of those 1903s that was likely brought back from somewhere in the Pacific theater during/after WWII. It’s a neat piece of history and can really add to a collection if one already has a Colt 1903 with a Colt Archive Letter that shows shipment to Japan prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor and U.S. involvement in the War. This listing does not include anything other than what is shown in the photos. This holster is used; it’s been through a war, is about 80 years old, and shows it. It’s missing its main strap to close the top; it has torn leather loops holding some of the small D-rings in the rear; there is heavy scuffing and scrapes and fine cracks on the outer surfaces of the leather. It feels fairly “brittle” but is not completely “petrified.” It would need a fair amount of repair/work if one wanted to use it, but as it is, it’s a neat piece of history that would display nicely with a Japanese-shipped Colt Model 1903.
