Description: Vintage (circa mid-1940s) hand engraved map tray from an ammunition shell casing. Made in Egypt by Granger. Granger was a British Military supply company in Egypt, and likely made engraved articles from metal salvaged from the deserts of the North African Campaigns. The diameter is approximately 11.5 inches. There are a couple of leading edge bends; the bottom has scratches; otherwise the face is beautiful.
