WWII CBI China Burma India theater Hand ? ENGRAVED CIGARETTE CASE + Photos lot

These came from the same estate and I'm pretty confident that the soldier either etched this by hand or paid someone to do it in/around India. There are the initials "JEB" or "JER" in the upper right. The photos are from the CBI theater with one V-MAIL Seasons Greetings card. The photos are glued to the foam board.
