Description: Here we have an authentic vintage 1941 souvenir program for the World's Championship Rodeo Victory Roundup for British War Relief held in Chicago, Illinois. Includes many important historical images, such as the back cover's propaganda image of a British bird pulling a Hitler-headed worm out of the earth, and a large-scale reprinted 1940 Pulitzer-Prize-Winning political cartoon, "--If I should die before I wake ..." by Chicago Sunday Times cartoonist Jacob Burke, among others. A message from Queen Elizabeth to Americans, as well as her photo, and one of Churchill as well. Also a great source of information about the British War Relief Society's efforts in the United States at that time, with many articles and sections describing the needs, efforts and accomplishments of the organization, backed up by financials and official tallies. Noted talent presenting at the Rodeo included Mickey Rooney, The Andrews Sisters and The Quiz Kids. Lots of great local Chicago ads as well. We have lots of interesting ephemera in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. Vintage: 1941 Approximate measurements: please see photos with rulers Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. We often add graphics such as arrows, circles, and text boxes to our photos to point out things of interest that might be hard to see, such as a price tag or maker's mark, as well as to highlight many condition flaws. You'll never find anything sticky, growing or otherwise gross on our ephemera, nor will you ever encounter anything with funky odors. This program is very fresh and clean, and in overall excellent very-vintage condition, with soft dog-ear to upper right corner throughout, and an old softened hard crease to the lower left corner of the back cover. No other issues -- no writing, tears, holes, marks, stains, etc. Rest assured that we will do all we can to ensure that your piece of ephemera arrives exactly as presented in our photos. We invest time and appropriate materials into shipping all of our ephemera. Most pieces are sent in envelopes that are sandwiched between cardboard before being sent as Priority or first-class parcels in non-bendable mailers, which ship at rates much higher than first-class letters. We never toss our ephemera into thin stationery envelopes with forever stamps stuck to them expecting the USPS to deliver them to you with great care. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us. The Fine Print:We expect payment within 1 day of purchase. If you're waiting for other auctions to end so that you can combine shipping, shoot us a message to let us know.If you're unable to pay within terms, please reach out with your Plan B. Things happen. Especially these days. So just shoot us a message. We don't accept buyer-remorse returns but we will grant you the use of our description and photos so that you can re-ebay the item yourself.Although we don't accept buyer-remorse returns, reach out if you're unhappy with your purchase! If we messed up -- everybody does -- give us a chance to fix it. We promise it was unintentional, and we'll do what we can to make it right.
