"My plane was on fire when I got out. The last man in the stick to jump got out at 200 feet and broke both legs. Fought in Holland, the Batle of the Bulge and Germany. Recipient of the Bronze Star (3rd highest military decoration) for disabling a German Tiger tank by shooting the radiator with a bazooka.
