Description: The US M1928 haversack went into production in1940, replacing the M1910 haversack with quick-release buckles and a web strap and buckle closure on the mess kit pouch. This example shows very little if any use, has bright khaki color with excellent webbing, and is marked CRAWFORD-AUSTIN MFG. CO. WACO, TEXAS 1942 on the reverse, and comes with mess kit bag. The buckles and clip hardware are bright and free of any rust/corrosion. There are slits that appear to have been made in the bottom to accommodate the thru-insertion of straps. An excellent addition to any early WW2 US Army field gear collection! Shipped promptly.
