Description: Original WW2 NORTH AFRICA CAMPAIGN map entitled "BIR EL METROHA" (Tunisia) which was ink stamped and retained officially by the War Office's Geographical Section (GSGS). Printed in November 1942 as the Tunisia Campaign began. Scale 1:100,000 It was finally removed from the British military archive with a 'CANCELLED' ink stamp in 1974. Came to me as part of a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence their own ink stamping to margin. (The government occasionally distributes excess stocks of military maps to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) In excellent condition. Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines.
