Description: VINTAGE FASCIST ERA ITALIAN GILDED SILVER MEDAL FOR SWIMMING SPORTS BY BERTONI, MILAN, ITALY. GILDED SILVER. 30 MM, 11.7 GMS. LOOP RING SUSPENSION. PLUSH LINED CASE OF ISSUE. Obverse: Two swimmers. Reverse: Plain. Un-named. Gilded silver, 30 mm, 11.7 gms. Loop ring for ribbon. Ribbon absent. The medal in its original plush lined case of issue marked: BERTONI S A R L GARIBALDI 70 MILANO. There's an unidentified gilt metal and white enamel badge fitted into the case. Condition: In lovely condition with the gilded finish unpolished and intact this elegantly designed and presented swimming prize medal is still in its plush lined case of issue. A small white enamelled shield shaped badge with a crusader cross is affixed in the case at top left. The pictures refer and form part of the item description.
