Description: Original WW2 German LUFTWAFFE map entitled "STARA SAGORA" (BULGARIA) which also features TSCHIRPAN, HASKOVO and ASSENOWGRAD etc, It's headed "Nur für den Dienstgebrauch" which is equivalent to a "RESTRICTED" British military map. Printed in February 1944. The word 'FLIEGERAUSGABE' in the top left corner of this series roughly translates to 'Aviation Edition'. In great condition with a small repair to a 'snag' just above the title (see main photo). Excess margins have apparently been trimmed at some point in its history. From a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence ink stamping to margin. (Following both World Wars, the government distributed excess stocks of Allied maps, along with captured enemy examples, to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines.
