Description: Vintage RAF aircraft bubble sextant Used widely during night time flights by the RAF during World War Two for the purpose of navigation by obtaining the altitude of the sun or stars. Primararly used in larger type bombers of the time, wellington lancaster etc Listed as a restoration project, it has a degree of wear and tear to it as photos show, there is a serial number on it which is followed by the numbers 42 which I have been told denotes the year of manufacture. I have no idea if it is complete or not, lenses and eye piece do seem intact. Comes in its original Bakelite case which has a broken / missing leather strap and some slightly bent out of shape hangers to the rear as photos show. There is a paper label to the front but I’m not able to work out what it says on it as it’s too faint. Any questions please feel free to ask Would make a nice shed bench project, stripping it down and understanding it’s inner workings Item will be dispatched via courier with full tracking to ensure safe and swift delivery I may consider local delivery for cost of fuel Please view my other items Thanks for looking!
