She said she found it going through her friend's grandmother's things while helping them pack to move cross country, and she asked if I would list it on ebay for her. I said sure, and put it in my office and forgot about it for a while.Over the next few months, I started hearing whispers. Whispers in a language I do not recognize. The jeweled eyes of this armadillo purse glow a fiery pink when the whispers start. Is the purse haunted? Who knows, but I think it's time to find it a new host... err, I mean home.The purse itself is in great condition, very clean inside and out. Doesn't look to me like it's ever been used. The mirror under the lid is in great shape and has no cracks or deep scratches that I can see, just a few hairlines on the surface. The metal closure works smoothly. There are no visible tears in the the leather or the fabric (satin?) interior.Google says these were mostly popular in the 1940's and 50's. I do not know if that is when it was made, but it definitely looks and smells vintage. Like a dusty library book that hasn't been picked up in decades. But I gently wiped all the dust off.
