Description: An amazing object. An Art Nouveau, WMF silver plated Jewellery Box. It was described in the 1906 WMF catalogue as a Glove Box but can be used gor Jewellery. Beautifuly designed with female faces on both sides and Art Nouveau shapes and icons . A wonderful item that should be in a museum or gallery. The condition is good for its age. It has some scratches , a small dent (hardly noticeable), and the silver plate has has worn off in some small areas. This does not detract from the grandeur of this piece and should not be a stumbling block to purchase as this piece encompasses the times and will always have a wonderful historic story to tell. The original key and tassle are present and the lock turns, but it does not lock at the moment. I am sure this can be fixed. Hallmarks shows the famous WMF Ostrich. Dimensions: length: 43cm .
