The wireless backup camera system consists of a wireless camera and a receiver with A/V output. The wireless camera is easily installed onto the rear of your vehicle. The wireless camera with transmitter sends a clear signal over distances up to 150 feet in open space (or 20-30 feet in car installation, if you need to install on RV over 30 feet, please check out 8907B. The camera's receiver is connected to the car battery power. The receiver receives the video signal from the camera’s transmitter, and output the signal to A/V cable connecting to GPS A/V input, or other monitor with A/V input. The camera and the transmitter are powered by the cables that power your vehicle's reverse lights. When you put your vehicle into reverse gear, your reversing lights turn on and power is sent to the camera and the transmitter, sending out a video signal. The GPS unit then automatically switches over to the camera view when there is signal from A/V input. Some GPS might require manual switch to A/V input signal. Please refer to your GPS unit on the A/V input specification for more detail. When you take your vehicle out of reverse gear, the reverse lights go out and the camera stops sending an image. At the same time the unit will stop showing the camera's image. This system is compatible with all GPS system with A/V input, including Garmin, Magellan, TomTom, HP iPAQ, in-dash GPS system, and all other GPS system with A/V input capability.
