Description: William Lee-Hankey (1869-1952)The Open Window, 1903Etching with drypointSigned in pencilImage: 4" by 3.75" inchesSheet: 7 by 7.7 inches Campbell Fine Arts shares, "Excellent impression with strong, fresh drypoint burr, signed proofs printed by the artist himself. Lee-Hankey is rarely seen today. The Baby-Child is the style of moving portrait which finds William Lee-Hankey at his most inspired. The subject of child’ became a recurring theme throughout William Lee-Hankey’s work – a theme in which he remained unsurpassed throughout the British Etching Revival. In this acutely observed study, the artist has captured perfectly a quiet moment - from which this image takes it title."From AskArt, William Lee-Hankey was a painter and etcher of landscapes, figure subjects, and harbour scenes.
