Description: This exquisite ladle is a true treasure for any collector. Crafted by Williard & Hawley of Syracuse, NY, this ladle features a stunning fiddle design that is sure to impress. Made of pure coin silver, this ladle is of exceptional quality. Formed in 1845 by William Wallace Willard and John Dean Hawley, the shop used this hallmark till 1859. The ladle, with a script 'E. Graves' engraved on the handle, is free of dents, splits, removals, bending or thinness and has a 100% intact bowl without wear. It is stamped on the back 'WILLIARD & HAWLEY PREMIUM' and 'SYRACUSE' inside separate rectangles. It is 5 7/8" long and weighs 24 grams. A fine example of a functional piece of early American silver. I am offering a similar coin ladle by Julius Hollister of Oswego, NY in a separate auction. If bought by the same buyer, I will ship them together and refund one of the shipping fees. Thanks for taking the time to view this auction.
