Compilation of a series of pamphlets in an exchange primarily between Unitarian minister William Ellery Channing (1780-1842) and his opponents Jedidiah Morse and Samuel Worcester regarding the portrayal of Unitarians in the opening pamphlet by Thomas Belsham. The exchange brought Channing to prominence as a leading figure of American Unitarianism. David Robinson, in his 1985 history "The Unitarians and the Universalists," calls Channing the "single most important figure in the history of Unitarianism" (p. 229). Contents as follows:1.
