Description: This is an original issue (#49) of Whole Earth Review winter 1985, containing interesting articles on the 12-year run of "The Farm" commune in Tennessee, Islam "beyond the stereotypes," assassinations, and cellular automata, with the usual mix of technology and social/cultural commentary for which the journal was known. Overall, this journal is in fair condition with some front cover flaws; as you'll see in my first three photos, the covers have light wear overall, but the front cover has a nearly 12"-long diagonal crease from the lower left corner almost to the upper right corner, and there is a 3" angled tear in the lower left corner, along with a few small areas of chipping along the edges. The pages are clean, crisp, and strongly-bound, and I found no writing or marking anywhere in the issue.
