Description: Up for auction is a Very Rare, SIGNED First Book Club Edition, (BCE), of When She Was Good by Philip Roth. SIGNED Copies of his Early Titles are Scarce and Becoming Exceedingly Hard to Find!! Philip Roth (1933-2018). Gone too soon. Hardcover with its original dust jacket. Published by Random House: New York, 1967. Boldly SIGNED by the legendary author! NOT inscribed, simply SIGNED by the late, great Philip Roth! Please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title! This is the First Book Club Edition, essentially, an early reprint. Once again, this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing. This rare treasure has some clearly visible wear, but is still in lovely, Highly Collectible condition! The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no internal foxing, no remainder marks, no missing or ripped pages and is NOT Ex-Libris. The binding is tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with creases/wear to the spine/corners/cloth boards, creases/wear to some of the pages and marks/wear to the edge/fore pages, NOT affecting the text! While not terribly egregious, the wear is still clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. The original dust jacket is fully intact but has considerable wear! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, rips and marks. There is also some discoloration/marks on the inside of the dust jacket! Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! In particular, please note the extensive scuffing and rips on the spine and near/along the edges! When we purchased the book, there was a "Signed By Author" sticker attached to the spine. We prefer that our books do not have such stickers and, ignorantly, assumed we could simply remove the sticker without damaging the dust jacket. We were wrong. It was a mistake and the end result is some VERY clearly visible scuffing/rips/loss of paper on that section of the spine. The unfortunate wear was closely photographed for your consideration. All of the wear, but particularly near/along the edges, is VERY clearly visible and should carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. Once again, the wear, particularly to the dust jacket, is VERY clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection. Please closely and carefully view ALL the pictures for further clarification!! Following the conclusion of the auction, payment must be received within three days or the book will be re-listed. Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions. We are very proud of our 100% positive feedback/ranking and offer an easy, no questions asked return policy so you can bid with confidence! Thank you!!
