Western Auto Supply was started by George Pepperdine who would go on to establish Pepperdine University. It was purchased by Advanced Auto Parts in 1998 and by 2003 it no longer existed as a chain. Western Auto Supply sold tools under various different brands. Some of these were registered trademarks, while others were just marked on products and used for advertising. One of these was Wizard. First used in May of 1937, the trademark was filed in September 1952 and officially issued October 5th 1954 (trademark #596,370). The Wizard trademark was used exclusively for their top quality tools.
