Description: Military medicine is a rather fascinating subject. The physical horrors of war forced doctors and medics to be inventive and thoughtful under great duress. There were also foreign diseases soldiers suffered through as they traveled abroad. This book centers on Sir James McGrigor who “initiated major reforms in preventative medicine and hospital care to improve the health and welfare of soldiers.” The books also includes his descriptions of battles, sea voyages, and more. The book itself is in good condition with a tight binding and just a little foxing on the top. My father did pencil in a few notes here and there. The dust jacket is a bit discolored on the front and has seen a bit of wear doing its job to protect the book.
