The highly ornate, tooled leatherette covers show a little wear with some slightly frayed and bruised edges and corners. The top spine edge of volume one is frayed. The binding is strong and the boards straight. Some foxing on the inside boards. The frontispiece and title page of Volume One each have a crease down the center. Otherwise, the pages are clean with no marks or writing that I have found. There are no torn, loose or missing pages. In amazing condition for being almost 90 years old!!!
