This was done by late 19th and early 20th century American female artist Pauline Meyer Colyar (1873-1928), who spent her adult years in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Her landscapes captured scenes of New England, from crashing waves to tranquil harbors to winter forests.This landscape features a water’s edge with a partial view of a house or barn roof in the background, foggy skies and several trees with fall autumn colors. The painting measures 9-7/8 inches x 4-1/2 inches. The frame measures 15-5/8 inches x 9-3/4 inches. The frame depth is about 11/16 inch. Painting condition looks excellent.Glass has no chips or cracks that can be seen.Nicely matted and framed – the matt board is a pale beige color with a taupe colored matt board on the inside. The frame is a distressed gold color.The frame shows small age-related nicks. Wire on the back for easy hanging.
