War of the Spider was one of a line of 8th Edition WH40K narrative-style expansion books. After the background section detailing the lore behind Fabius Bile's daring campaign to consolidate his own power, the book spells out missions for the forces involved to play against each other, and rules for the factions involved: Adeptus Custodes, Sisters of Silence, Imperial Assassins, the Death Guard, and of course, Fabius Bile (that's him on the cover!) and his "Creations".
