ITEM DESCRIPTION: Just in Time for the Christmas Season!!! Here is an Extremely Cool & Ultra Rare Vintage Circa 1920’s New/Old Stock (NOS) & Unused Mint-in-Original-Sleeve & Working(!), Christmas Holiday ‘Standard Base’ Decorative Stencil-Spraypainted Orange, Yellow & Black ‘Economic HUB’ Incandescent ‘Gas-Filled’ Light Bulb Featuring a Triple-sided Seasonal Scene of ‘Three Doves of Peace’, which is a traditional Christmas decoration that is symbolic of peace, purity, love and the Holy Spirit. We currently have several other vintage & duplicate Christmas Holiday Bulbs & Halloween Bulbs available as well, so please have a look! Lamp/Bulb History, Manufacturer Info & Bulb Info: The lamp/bulb had been stored this whole time by the Meibohm family as ‘New/Old Stock’ in its original corrugated paper sleeve (along with the other similar holiday bulbs), from when we used to sell them as holiday novelties out of Carl Meibohm’s Art Shop located on Connecticut Street in Buffalo, NY who started the Art Shop in 1901—we’re third generation and are now simply known as Meibohm Fine Arts located in East Aurora, NY after moving in 1957 from our downtown location. The manufacturer was the, Economic Lamp Company, Boston, Mass. and later located at 121 Madison Street, Malden, Mass. (Lighting Manufactures, c.1891-1936) who were able to officially manufacture and distribute lamps/bulbs that were, ‘Licensed under the General Electric Company’s incandescent lamp patents’, as stated/printed on the sleeve, and their navy blue printed sleeve features their company ‘Economic Hub’ logo of a lamp/lightbulb with light rays shining from their ‘Hub’ name/logo. The model number for this incandescent tungsten lamp/bulb is a standard, ‘A19’, as printed on the side along with G.E. & Economic Lamp Company info and numerous patent numbers. The Economic Lamp Co.’s Trademark ‘Hub’ name with wattage & volt info above & below the name is barely legible on the end of the bulb with the text as, ‘25 Hub 115’. The brass base is a standard E26 base and will fit into any standard lamp. In 1936, the Economic Lamp Company was acquired by Sylvania. The lamp/bulb glass feels somewhat thicker than more-modern lightbulb glass and the black doves appear sprayed three times around the bulb. As shown in one of my photos on the listing (at top & in our custom listing page), the bulb is in working order and lights up perfectly, and was only on for a few seconds to test & for the duration of my photographic shot and placed back into its sleeve. I realize that avid lighting and/or Christmas collectors may of course limit and/or abstain completely from ‘lighting up’ the lamp/bulb in the future, to keep it as ‘original’ as possible in its ‘New/Old Stock’ condition, but I had to demonstrate to perspective collectors that it indeed works & lights up as it should—though I had my doubts after 90+ years in storage, but what a treat to see it all lit up! NOTE: The lamp/bulb will be carefully packed in many layers of bubblewrap & boxed for safe transport, but Meibohm Fine Arts cannot take responsibility for shipping services who may potentially break the lamp/bulb’s fragile internal filament or other possible breakage, thus full insurance will be added to any winning purchase (full hammer price) with signature confirmation. Also, to minimize the risk, the lamp/bulb will only be shipped domestically to the contiguous lower 48 States in the U.S. (no international sales sorry). Size & Condition: The size is a standard E26 base, 3-3/4” h x about 2-3/8” w (at its widest). The Lamp/Bulb is in Excellent Rare+ condition for its vintage age with rich & vivid colors. The Lamp is basically ‘Mint in its original Sleeve’ and as previously mentioned was ‘New/Old Stock’ and has been stored away this whole time since the Meibohm family purchased them to sell in our Art Shop. This will make the perfect addition to any Christmas or Lighting/Lamp/Bulb collection! No real or discernable damage at all on this fantastic lamp/bulb, aside from a little slight topical soiling (lightly grubby) from age and from being stored in a box with other bulbs this whole time for over 80-90+ years, as noticed mostly at the end of the bulb in a couple spots and I did no cleaning to the bulb at all to preserve it in its ‘As Found’ state—we’ll leave that up to the winning bidder to do if they so choose, but I don’t think it needs it. Because of the brightness of the bulb when I photographed it, for some reason my camera couldn’t quite capture the exact brightness & color of the bulb correctly and as a result, it created an odd reddishness around the edges and into the black Doves somewhat from light diffraction (light bending/diffracting around the edges)—anyway, it’s just an example to show that it does indeed light up. The sleeve itself is in Excellent Rare+ condition with normal toning of the stock from age, minimal normal creasing here & there, a few tiny tears at the ends and slight topical soiling (lightly grubby) from age and being stored in a box with other bulbs—and is thankfully still with the Lamp/Bulb! What a rare find, so don’t miss this opportunity!!! Under U.S. law we are unable to mark a smaller amount or to declare the item a gift, sample, or anything other than merchandise prints/paintings etc, so PLEASE DO NOT ASK. Most items will be shipped rolled in a Heavy-Duty Tube to save on shipping costs. Some may be shipped flat/hardpacked at our discretion. NOTES FOR ALL BIDDERS: COMBINED SHIPPING: We offer Combined Shipping, for multiple winning auctions if the items can be put into the same package. EMAILING US: eBayers, at all costs, please use eBay's email system only (no outside email addresses) with any questions you may have. eBay's email system GUARANTEES we get your email and more importantly, that you get ours. A lot of servers in the last few years have started using newer SPAM filters, and there have been a lot of problems with GOOD emails not getting through correctly, and being returned as undeliverable. We have had numerous problems in the past communicating with our eBayers outside of eBay because of it. COLLECTORS & DEALERS: Please DO NOT email us (inside or outside of eBay's email system) with any offers to stop an auction early. It would not be fair to the rest of the eBay Worldwide community if we did that. THE HIGHEST BIDDER -OR- HIGHEST OFFER WINS IT!!!!! Thank you from the Staff at Meibohm Fine Arts, GOOD LUCK & HAPPY BIDDING!!!
