Description: This beautiful vintage German beer stein is a Wick-Werke grey and cobalt blue stoneware tankard with an Erich Bolling GmbH & Co. rounded pewter lid and sphere thumblift. It features three portraits of finely dressed maidens. A unique addition to any beer stein collection.The nested "W"s for Wick-Werke is impressed on the bottom. The Erich Bolling "eb" and scales are stamped on the inside of the lid along with "Rein Zinn Bleifrei" or Lead-free Pure Pewter. The Erich Bollling company has been manufacturing beer steins since 1958 and is based in Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany. The Wick-Werke company was started in 1922 and specialized in producing stoneware through 1984. It was also located in Höhr-Grenzhausen, Germany.The beer stein is approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the base and 2 1/2 inches at the opening. The length, which includes the handle, is approximately 4 1/2 inches. The beer stein is approximately 4 3/4 inches tall and 6 inches tall including the lid and thumblift. The weight of the beer stein is approximately 1 lb. 2.4 ounces or 521 grams. It holds approximately 10 ounces.The beer stein is pre-owned/used but appears to be in excellent vintage condition - no cracks, chips or crazing.Made in Germany.
