Description: Up for sale is a Spanish Moorish Design Tapestry with Arabic / Islamic Calligraphy in stunning colors of Red, Gold, Silver (or maybe Lavender), Blue, Beige and Green. The tapestry measures approximately 45.5" x 45.5" square not including the 3" gold fringe. The condition is excellent with no stains, tears, or any flaws that I can find. The fringe may be bunching in a few places but I did brush it out the best I could. There are no labels (as is the case on all other tapestries like this that I've researched) but there are many examples online that are exactly like this but with differing dimensions. From research, this tapestry was produced in Grenada, Islamic Spain and features Moorish Floral design, intricate and detailed geometric patterns and shapes and Calligraphy in Arabic or Islamic writing...all in gorgeous vivid colors. This tapestry was found in a cedar chest where it had been stored for no telling how long. Even though I aired it out and dried it with dryer sheets, there may be a very light lingering odor that should dissipate with time. Again, without a label it is difficult for me to be 100% certain of the materials used, but almost all tapestries like this are made of silk with either silk or cotton fringe. I'm no expert by any means so all information I have comes from research online... This tapestry would make a gorgeous wall hanging or could be used in a myriad of ways as a focal point in any room.
