Description: B1814 These glazed earthenware nesting vases were designed by Belle Kogan for Red Wing Pottery circa 1953. In excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks or crazing. There are some minor defects that were part of the manufacturing process as noted in photos. Dimensions of larger vase: 7 x 7 x 2-1/4 in. Dimensions of smaller vase: 5-1/8 x 5-3/4 x 2-5/8 in. Belle Kogan (19022000) was a Russian-American industrial designer and is regarded as the first prominent female in the profession in the United States (Godmother of Industrial Design) as well as one of the founders of the profession itself.[1] In 1994, she was recognized as a fellow of both the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and Industrial Designers Institute (IDI).
