Description: The item is sold as is, as found and as you see it. The sale is for a vtg large real steering wheel that has been converted into a wall clock. The steering column piece comes from an old vintage car; unsure of model, age, could be the 50's or 60s at least. The column is, I assume, steel. The black part could be a coating of maybe a plastic or rubber: not sure, over the metal. I purchased the column from an antique store and thought it would make an interesting clock. i took the wheel to a clock shop and asked how it could be repurposed into a clock. I suggested the center hole if it could be made as the central part of the clock. The salesperson suggested cutting the center a bit and inserting a small quartz clock that has a battery. The small clock was inserted and can pop out as it has a rubber liner on backside if battery needs changing. Unsure of how to change battery but can be taken to a clock shop. New battery recently installed. Hanging clock may be best decided by owner: wire wrap, or metal circular pieces. The condition of wheel is used; may have some crack lines in rubber/plastic from age; as found. Some lines seem a little perfect so unsure of what is from age/use. The rubber will have scratches, flaws, a few areas that look melted but could be from rubber/plastic. The metal will have scratches and age wear from being a used item. Heavy item. Backside will have stains in metal. Clear plastic center has ridged design and has a silver color under plastic; unsure it its metal. Basically sold as a repurposed item so anything goes. See all pics for they are part of description. May have other issues not mentioned but mentioned most significant. Measures 17.75".
