VTG Print Gustave Henri Marchetti Basilica Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre 1900-1910?

Description: Beautiful vintage aquatint print of a Paris street scene near the Basilica of Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre by French painter, engraver, etcher, and sculptor Gustave Henri Marchetti (1873-1938). The print is framed, matted, and pencil signed by the artist. The title of the work is unknown. The date of the print is also unknown, but it might be from around 1900 - 1910, since the Paris publisher Hautecouer commissioned Gustave Marchetti to create aquatints of French scenes during this period. The wood frame measures approximately 12 1/4” x 15” and the printed area measures approximately 7” x 10”. The matte opening measures approximately 7 3/4" x 10 3/4". The print appears to have been professionally framed. The print appears to be in excellent vintage condition with signs of wear and age, such as fading, yellowing, perhaps some very slight “waviness” to the paper (difficult to see in photos), and perhaps a few spots and/or stray marks. The print has not been examined outside of the frame. The matte also appears to be in excellent used condition, although it has not been examined outside of the frame. The wood frame appears to be in “very good plus” used condition with signs of wear, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, indentations, and some minor loss of finish. The paper backing appears to be in very good used condition with signs of wear, such as some scratches, scrapes, abrasions, and indentations, creases, folds, wrinkles, and some separation from the wood frame, protrusions of glazier points near the top of the frame, and a few small tears along the edges. One of the “bumper pads” near the bottom of the frame is missing. Please review photos carefully, as they constitute part of the description.
