Description: This fabulous Picasso lithograph, "La Ronde de la Jeunesse," dated July 25, 1961 is mounted on board and framed. It is signed, in the print itself, and not numbered. I suspect that while this is not numbered it is was made in one of the early releases of the prints. This is a richly colored lithograph on high quality paper. As this is older, there has been some discoloration on the paper, but does not affect the colorful figures. The print has been restored to some extent with dry white condé pastel over spots of discoloration. This piece is known as "Dance of Youth" and features dancing figures in a ring, centering on a dove of peace that was characteristic of Picasso's work at that time. I have also seen the print referred to as the "Dance of Peace Youth Circle." The black frame is pretty cool; its raised sides form a type of shadow box around the print. There was glass on the front of the frame, but was damaged in shipping and subsequently removed. Glass could easily be replaced should you wish. The frame itself is sturdy and attractive. The dimensions are 25.25 in h, 21 in w and the frame shadow box height is 2 in deep.
