It does show wear and can be a bit wobbly, so if using as a storage box or to make a table, etc it would need more stabilizing. The bottom was cut open originally, which has left a rough wood edge and sharp metal edge, so use gloves when handling. This was a tea shipping crate from India to Liverpool, England. Then it was used to ship books to the USA (we have another that still has the book company shipping label attached). Nice history!
