Description: A hand hammered pewter ice bucket from Max Rieg (1899-1985). Rieg was born in Germany and attended classes at the Bauhaus. He immigrated to the United States in 1928 and starting working in pewter in 1930. He was associated with Colonial Williamsburg from 1937-50. This ice bucket measures about 10" tall, about 12 1/2" across at handles and weighs over 4 pounds. It shows some wear and a couple of dings. Fine quality and design, the best piece of Rieg we have seen. Sorry, the Dom Perignon is not included, bottle is empty anyway.
