Description: ***MORE PICTURES are below or click See more or See full description***VINTAGE ORIGINAL HAND CARVED WOOD SIGN / PLAQUE FROM DOCTOR'S CAVE BEACH HOTEL MONTEGO BAY JAMAICA WEST INDIESI bought this at an estate auction. I'm unsure where the homeowner acquired it and not exactly sure how old it is but it was found with other artwork that was vintage to antique, so I'm guessing 1960's to 1970's maybe? It measures 21"x8.75" and is 1 1/8" thick. It weighs just under 3 pounds. I have contacted the hotel to find out more information but currently it appears they are closed and have not responded to my email. I believe this had to come from the hotel or an earlier version hotel with the same name as it would not appear to be a souvenir type piece. Probably hung in the hotel or bar at some point. Very unique and nicely carved single piece of wood with bird (parrot/exotic bird of paradise??) and tropical floral landscape scenery. Has a two-tone stain with darker accents that help those parts stand out as there is a lot of detailed intricate carvings. Just a lovely piece of art and if you ever vacationed there; got married there or just like Jamaica or cool wood carvings, this could be a great addition to your man cave, tiki room or whathaveyou special place! One of a kind piece! There are some scratches to some areas and a little dust in the deep crevices, but overall in good condition and displays well. There are 19 pictures to look through.
