Description: Vintage 60s Saks Fifth Ave Boys Native American Indian Halloween Costume Leather. Vintage genuine leather 1950's/1960's (?) Child's Native American Indian costume. Complete with fringe and embroidery. Very cute and fun for dressing up or for Halloween Belt at waist is leather with a real metal buckle. All studs are metal as well. This was a very expensive costume in its time, only afforded by the wealthy. Comes with both pieces shown, open front vest and chaps. Straps on the back of chaps keep them on the child's legs. You are meant to step into them and pull them over your pants. Condition is good vintage. It shows wear consistent with age. The leather has not been cleaned or treated in any way. All original. There is an area where one of the legs on the chaps has come undone at the crotch and needs to be repaired by a couple stitches (shown in the photo). This item originally came from Saks Fifth Avenue department store. No size listed was meant to be a one size fits most for small children. Belted waist at largest size is 24" and at smallest is about 20". These measurements are approximate. Inseam on chaps is about 14". Vest is 23" across pit to pit when vest is closed. These are meant to go over clothes and fit in a somewhat oversized manner for play. They just don't make costumes like this anymore! Questions? Please ask prior to bidding as all sales are final.
