Description: This coffee/tea pot is a mid century piece from East Germany GDR at the height of the Cold War. It was purchased from an estate sale. The owner of the pieces worked in West Berlin in the 60s/early 70s. She worked as a military secretary but was a Civilian. On her payday, she told us she would cross over to East Berlin and buy beautiful pieces that would catch her eye. She said she would go over to East Berlin at least once a month because she could afford so much more over there. She brought it back to the states and has kept it stored in boxes. Part of shopping with her was having her tell her story. It was an amazing privilege to hear and now share her story!
