Description: Vintage Chinese Bronze StatueThe Flying Horse Of GansuVintage, UsedThis bronze statue is a striking reproduction of the original “Flying Horse Of Gansu” which was created during the Han Dynasty sometime between 206 AD and 220 AD. The original was uncovered in 1969 during an excavation project in the Gansu Province. Since that time, this statue has become a symbol for China. The horse is shown in mid-gallop as it races toward the sky with one of its hooves stepping on what was thought to be a flying swallow. This bronze horse figurine features a design of ornate symbols and scrollwork in embossed blue/green. It's my understanding that these designs portray a meaning. This horse figure measures approximately 8.25" Long from the tip of the tail to the front hoof and is 7.25” High from the bottom of the base to the top of the horse’s head. It is approximately 2” wide.A very eye-catching and attractive flying horse!
