Description: This listing is for a Vintage Owens-Illinois Glass Co. Apothecary Jar. Also know as a General Country Store of Country Drug Store Candy or Display Jar. The Jar stands approx 6 1/2” tall without the lid (8” with the lid) and has a thick ring around the rim. The barrel of the jar is a 5” X 5” X 5”. The neck of the jar and the lid are ground and tapered. This makes a nice tight fit without the danger of sticking shut. The ornate handle on the lid makes for a firm and comfortable grip which cuts down on the chances of nicking and chipping the glass. The jar is in very good used condition, with no chips,cracks, scratches or stains. It even looks like it has hid from a dishwasher all these years. The jar is marked on the bottom with the Owens-Illinois mark of an “I” inside a circle inside a diamond. Please see attached pictures for details. Thanks for looking.(M3-7)
