These were given to passengers of the Sunshine Cruiser boat ride that went to Mullet Key (Fort Desoto) or to Bradenton. "This certifies that the bearer ________________ is a member in good standing in the Loyal Order of Green Bench Sitters of St Petersburg, Florida and has the privilige to converse, talk, chat, or chew the rag with anyone on any green bench. All conversations must start with a comparison of St Petersburg weather with that of the Home State, after which any subject may be taken up including that of the wonderful trip taken on Sunshine Cruiser to Mullet Key or Bradenton." ST Petersburg was known in the 50's and 60's as a tourist destination which had green benches all over town for pedestrians to rest and chat. 2 blank cards, very good condition, carefully preserved and removed form a 1956 scrapbook of a vacation to the Tampa Bay area. 3.87" x 2.25" each.
