The pattern is named Silver Anniversary and is Schleiger pattern #19. The bold, bright gold is used to accent the rims. The overall quality of the design is quite professional and beautiful to behold.DIMENSIONS: 7.5 X 1.5" CONDITION: We can find no defects or damage. There is no gold wear or utensil marks. Please refer to the photos to see how classically beautiful this set is. PIC 3,4 & 5 SHOWS BOTTOM ON ONE PLATE W DARK AREA ON BOTTOM RIM. NO CHIPS ETC HISTORY/MARKS: The American-born David Haviland settled in Limoges, France in 1842 operating a porcelain exporting business to the USA. He purchased white ware from various factories an shipped it to his New York decorating studio. In 1847, he established a decorating studio in Limoges. He started producing porcelain in Limoges in 1865 and decorating it on site. His sons, Charles Edward and Theodore, continued the prosperous business after David’s death in 1879. Theodore left to establish his own firm in 1892. Charles Edward continued Haviland & Co. until his death in 1921. It bankrupt under his son’s leadership in 1930 and the molds were sold in 1931. In 1941, Theodore’s son, William, was able to obtain the rights to the old Haviland & Co. marks and molds and the company was reorganized as Haviland & Co. William retired in 1957 and the company was carried on by his sons. When the sons retired in 1972, management of the company was turned over to the Cerabati Group under the name of Haviland SA. The company remains in business today. The underglaze mark (in green) on this is mark #12 cited in Mary Frank Gaston’s Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, 3rd edition) which was used from 1894-1931. It also has the red decorator’s mark for Haviland Limoges used 1876-1878 & 1889-1931. So, this set is circa to the time period 1894-1931.
