Description: Oh my, what a beauty she is & a RARE gem at that! Designed by Japanese writer, illustrator, artist & designer Isao Naito under the pen name of Rune Naito who’s designs were popular during 50’s-70’s. His illustrations of “large-headed” & baby faced girls,first drawn for Japan magazines in the mid 1950’s, are credited with pioneering the contemporary culture & aesthetic of kawaii ( meaning cutenesses,charming,vulnerable,shy, & childlike). She is missing the original stopper (unable to research her original purpose was) but could be used as a simple bud vase or as I have, a darling figurine. She is in MINT condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. She measures 6 1/2”t x 4 1/8”long x 2 1/4” w. These originally came in either red with red hearts or black with black diamonds.
