Description: Vintage 1940s WWII Navy Peacoat, Darkest Navy Blue in Color. The Sailor likely served served in both WW2 & the Korean War. He sailed on the USS Wasp CVA-18, (I also have his tour-books currently listed), and they are each dated 1955 and 1956. The coat has the tag dating it to the 1940s, as well as corduroy lining in front pockets. There are no flaps on the lower pockets. His name is in both tour books & I got this grouping from his parents. The coat has his name as well. Measures Chest-38", Waist-38", Sleeve-25", Shoulder seam to seam-18 1/2", Length rear nape seam to hem-32". His name is stitched in Yellow Gold Embroidery on the interior "Michael Torkos" as well as his ID Number. Very Good Condition other than the lining of the sleeves needing to be re-stitched at the upper shoulders & a seam that needs re-stitched on the side of interior lining (see pics). NO moth holes or moth nips, light dust-a few minor dirt smudges (just from storage)...BUY-IT-NOW!
