On the front free endpaper Burliuk has inscribed the following: This book by greatestPoet of CzechoslovakiaViteslav Nezvall1957 - to 1958. [?] For Martin Bush with regards. David Marussy Burliuk (Burliuk during this period would often sign his name with a combination of his own and his wife's first names.) Burliuk adds a doodle and his initials, "D.B." as well as the note: We were Czechoslovakia Sept. Oct. Nov. 1957 and July 1-23 1962. Martin Bush is likely the art historian and dealer Martin H Bush, who was teaching at Syracuse in 1964. Book came from an estate in upstate New York. Text appears unmarked. Also laid in is a small page "For attention of foreigners travelling to Czechoslovakia," dated "Praha, March, 1955." Cover in good shape. Jacket has some minor soiling and wear (see pics); now protected by acid-free mylar sleeve (fully removable). Book in French. Preface and adaptation by Jean Marcenac, after the translation into French from the Czech by Milos Sova Same or next day ship, careful packaging, no surprises!
