Description: Limited edition. All pages in mint condition. Cover shows slight wear (see close up) White remains one of our personal favorites, if not the favorite, because it was the most focused and, some say, the most elegant issue. The challenge: How do we print a publication using little to no ink? The solution: Artwork was either embossed, printed with varnish (our interpretation of “invisible" ink), or, as in the case of Ruben Toledo’s illustrations, hand cut from tissue paper in a small village in China. We used braille on the cover and on many of the inside pages, leading the New York Times to call White “the magazine for touching." We liked to think of it as quite possibly the first fashion magazine for the blind. True to the all-white theme, Greg Foley’s feather design for the cover was embossed rather than printed. It gave us great pleasure to walk by the Rizzoli Bookstore windows and see what appeared at a glance to be a wall of pure, blank books.
